When my nephew came along I had already made a crib for his sister, so I decided to make a toy truck for him. I found this design in a book on toy building.
The cab of the truck shaped out of alder
I used some ipe scraps from another job to make the wheel wells.
With some more alder and a few small dowels, the details began to take shape.
The completed truck, finished with several coats of boiled linseed oil. The wheels, like the wheel wells, are made of ipe.
